Aion 2 Faction Guide: Elyos, Asmodians and Balaur
Playable Elyos and Asmodians, hostile Balaur, starting zones and why faction labels exist on ESP.
Aion 2 still splits Atreia between Elyos and Asmodians. You pick one playable side at character creation. The Balaur are a hostile draconic force, not a third character-creation option. This guide is a game reference. You do not need a cheat to use it.
Elyos
Elyos inhabit Elysea, the sunlit south. Global starting zone documentation lists Poeta, then Verteron as the main leveling region, with Eltnen on the path. Daeva wings begin light-colored. Classes are the same eight as Asmodians; combat stats are not faction-buffed.
Asmodians
Asmodians inhabit Asmodae in the north. Start in Ishalgen, then Altgard, with Morheim as a later home region. Wings begin darker. Same class list, same roles. Pick this side for its story, servers and look — not for a hidden DPS bonus.
Servers and meetings
On global, servers are faction-sided and paired for Abyss and Spacetime Rift encounters. Pairings can change. Friends should agree on faction before you invest in a character.
Balaur
Balaur (with related Drakan and Naga groups in lore) are antagonists. ESP and radar that label Balaur are marking enemies, not a playable team.
If you also use overlays
Faction ESP and radar colors map onto this same three-way split. Ignore Friendly Faction in aim assist follows your playable side.
